Fort Bend County's Fresh Start program is designed to help citizens accused with possessing 2 ounces or less of marijuana an alternative to entering the court system. The purpose of the program is to alleviate heavy court dockets and give people a second chance.

Participating and completing the Fresh Start program avoids all these complications.
The program is straightforward. Sign a contract with the District Attorney's Office, pay the program fees, take a drug offender education program, stay out of trouble for 90 days, pay for and pass a urine test at the end of the 90 days and your case will be dismissed.*
The program requires the participant (1) be over 17 years old, (2) charged with a Class B Possession of Marijuana < 2oz. (3) have no additional criminal charges arising out of the incident** (4) have no outstanding warrants** (5) is not on bond or deferred adjudication or probation in Fort Bend or other county**.
